DESCRIPTION OF SESSION: The Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) updates the “Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing” annually. It is essential for laboratories to keep up with these annual changes. Dr. Munson will discuss the major changes made to the 2022 M100 32nd edition document. LEVEL OF INSTRUCTION: INTERMEDIATE, Refresher course; some basic knowledge required PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: At the end of the session, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe significant changes relevant to pre-existing antimicrobial susceptibility breakpoints, as outlined in the CLSI M100-ed32 document. 2. Describe significant changes relevant to antimicrobial susceptibility testing methodology, as outlined in the CLSI M100-ed32 document. 3. Identify (new) organism/antimicrobial combinations for which susceptibility breakpoints now exist, as outlined in the CLSI M100-ed32 document.
